What fresh hell is this?

As Mr O'Neil (Daria's English teacher) says "sometimes boundaries can paradoxically bring us freedom", so I would like to invite fellow time-wasters out there to suggest future topics for FelixforZosia to write about. (ie you will provide the boundaries which will result in my creative/artistic/pointless freedom). In the spirit of this quote, I will start by providing some boundaries of my own; perhaps someone(s) would like to provide opinion(s) on whether or not any of the following may make interesting reading:
1. Why I love lists
2. An open debate on: Which film is better: Center Stage or Save The Last Dance?
3. Words that sound similar but are etymologically unrelated, like 'ginger' and 'gingerly'
4. Whether it is possible to plagiarise a physical movement
5. Hell. Is it blogging, knitting, or other people?

I look forward to your comments

I have just one question. (Actually, I have two. The second one is in the next comment.)

Is Justin Timberlake cool?

My second question is Existential and actually belongs to my housemate. We live on the outer edges of what used to be the British Empire and count ourselves lucky on the days we have running water, so our fingers aren't exactly on the modern music pulse, but is it possible that in this age of post-modernism, we are also post-music? Has every song that can ever be written already been written?

hmm, two very good questions. The second one I think I will mull over tonight but I 'll tackle the first one now. Rather than making a judgement one way or the other on the conceept of 'cool' I would suggest that the intersting thing about JT is that he is Michael Jackson only more white and more Michael Jackson. Whether or not that makes him cool probably depends on your opinion of Michael jackson, and also possibly your opinion of appropriation and emulation and being derrivative.

I think you'll find that, yes, Justin Timberlake is in fact cool. It's perhaps one of the most undisputed facts of the mid-naughties. He somehow managed to exit both a boy band and a relationship with the Brit with style, yet still maintain his so-hot-right-now pop cred. Plus, he bought sexy back. We truly do have a lot to thank him for.

Ok well since Karla is running late (!) I will have a crack at the second question while I wait for her.
In conversation (yes, we still have those sometimes) Nathan mentioned that there has not yet been a song written about myspace.
So definately, in terms of lyrical content there are songs that have not yet been written. In terms of groups and sequences of notes i am not so sure. maybe everything post about 1945 is basically a mashup?

Oh well I'm glad we sorted that out. I am going to personally call Anthony Callea to tell him he is wasting his time.

Has there been a song written about Facebook? What is with that thing anyway - last month I had never heard about it, and now everyone is on it. Except John Howard of course, he is so early 2006 with his YouTube clip. And on the subject of my being late... one day I will arrive on time and really mess you up!

Wow I never knew that Fall Out Boy was real. I just remember him from One Tree Hill Series 3 when Peyton had a brief fling with him and Peyton's dad called him Fall Down Boy.

That is gold AND silver! I think I would poke. This does raise another question though - was there new music up until about 3 weeks ago? Maybe the facebook song was the last piece of new and original music ever. Or maybe not...
